The exhibition stands out amongst other similar events because of its democratic formula.
It shows achievements not only in the field of sculpture but also in other types of visual arts.
The rules for selecting participants have been changing over the years, however the final selection is made, as always, by a group of curators, art experts and art critics and is based on set, democratic criteria.
25 young artists associated with Polish art academies are taking part in this year’s project. They show sculpture, artistic installations, objects and video art. Their works represent real professionalism even though some of them are still students and others have just completed their studies. It is a masterful way of creating their art that is the main theme of the exhibition, hence the title “Kunszt” (art+skill+craft)
What waits for us is an interesting overview of talented creative young people who, before starting on their artistic path were students of psychology, music, architecture and other technical subjects. Their experiences in other fields result in interesting artistic effects which in return show the maturity of their authors. The subjects they are dealing with demonstrate their involvement in important political and social issues worthy of activists and environmentalists.
