Sculpture –painting 1988-2018
Curator: Jarosław Pajek
The exhibition open from 20 January – 25 March 2018
The exhibition presented at the Orangery Gallery is an abridged review of Szostak’s thirty years of creative work. Particular emphasis was placed on his interest in the source of perceiving the world, the processes going on in our minds and regarded as the object of observation. Most of the presented works come from recent years and focus on breaking and penetrating the structure of space, on reaching to its atom dimension where there is more space between than the matter itself. Basing on the physical aspects of existence and simplifying the forms and materials is supposed to help, with the hope to control the fear inherent in the questions about the fragility, creatio continua and, finally, the sense of life.
