The exhibition was prepared by the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko and presented in the autumn 2016 at the Millenáris Park in Budapest during the Art Market Budapest. It is a representative collection of monumental sculpture of 15 Polish artists collaborating with our institution, both classics, of which Magdalena Abakanowicz is best known, artists of middle-age generation and three younger but already renowned artists. The sculptures, objects and interactive installations are both figurative and abstract. Some of them have been specially designed and produced for the Budapest exhibition. They present various interpretative tracks: from pacifist, ecological, contemplative, utopian, sociological to postconceptual ones. Adam Garnek’s Turbine, Krzysztof M. Bednarski’s Brahmaputra and Maciej Aleksandrowicz’s Look Around are interactive constructions, which can be moved by viewers. Made from diverse materials: bronze, steel, metal sheet, stainless steel and synthetic resin they represent various approaches to the medium of sculpture.

Adama Garnek’s Turbine is displayed thanks to the courtsey of Dorota and Tomasz Tworeks’ Foundation Nowa Przestrzeń Sztuki, while Krzysztof M. Bednarski’s object Brahmaputra courtesy of the Centre of  Intercultural Creative Initiatives ‘Rozdroża’ in Lublin – the organizer of the Otwarte Miasto festival.
